Is Talk to Strangers anonymous?
You choose, per call. Anonymous mode hides your name and photo and shows the ghost mark instead. You can turn it off mid-call if you decide you want to be findable again — the other person is told when you do.
How are matches made?
You pick a few interests; we look for someone awake, available and interested in at least one of the same things, weighted towards people close to your time zone. Median wait is nine seconds, and you can skip to a new match at any time without explaining why.
Is it safe?
Every account is verified by phone before its first call. Audio is screened on-device for threats and harassment, blocking is one tap and permanent, and reporting sits in the call controls rather than behind a menu. Nothing you say is recorded or stored.
Can I reconnect with someone?
Only if you both want to. Tap the star during or right after a call; if the other person also starred it, the line opens in your favourites. A one-sided star never tells the other person anything.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, on iOS and Android, and the web app does everything the mobile app does apart from background calls. Your favourites and scheduled calls follow you between them.
How does moderation work?
Three layers: phone verification before the first call, on-device AI that flags threats and harassment in real time, and a human review team that looks at every report within an hour. Repeat reports remove an account permanently.
